The UFC Heavyweight Champion 2026 market comes down to one fight. Ciryl Gane, promoted to undisputed champion after Tom Aspinall vacated the belt on September 14, makes his first defense against undefeated Josh Hokit in the UFC 334 main event at Madison Square Garden on November 14, 2026. No other heavyweight title fight is booked before the market checks the champion at noon ET on December 31. About $900K has traded across Kalshi and Polymarket, and both venues make Gane roughly a two-to-one favorite.
As of October 16, Kalshi quotes Gane at a 67% bid and 70% ask, and Polymarket has him at 67% bid and 68% ask. Hokit is at 32% bid and 33% ask on Kalshi and about 30% to 31% on Polymarket. The venues sit within about 3 points on both fighters, and the two contracts together account for roughly 98% of the probability. Every other fighter trades at 1% or less on both venues. The live board above carries current prices.
The board was rebuilt in a week. Polymarket's daily closes had Aspinall at 55% and Gane at 28% on September 11, when a rematch between them was still the plan. Aspinall fell to 2% on September 14, the day he vacated, while Gane jumped to 65% and closed at 72% the next day. Hokit traded near 5% before the booking and reached 30% by September 21, two days after UFC 334 was announced. Since then Gane has held between 66% and 72% and Hokit between 26% and 33%.
Gane is 14-2 with one no contest and became a two-time interim champion on June 14, 2026, when he stopped Alex Pereira at 1:27 of the second round at UFC Freedom 250 at the White House. His previous fight, against Aspinall at UFC 321 in Abu Dhabi on October 25, 2025, ended as a first-round no contest at 4:35 after eye pokes left Aspinall unable to continue. Before that, Gane beat Alexander Volkov by split decision at UFC 310 in December 2024.
Aspinall's eye problems never cleared. He vacated the title in an Instagram post on September 14, saying a training accident had caused further damage to his right eye and that "right now, the timing of my return is unclear." The UFC elevated Gane and announced the Hokit fight on September 19. For a Gane Yes, he has to win or otherwise keep the belt at UFC 334 and then hold it, without vacating or being stripped, through noon ET on December 31.
Hokit is 10-0, 28 years old, and a former Fresno State football player. He has fought three times in 2026 and won all three: a first-round knockout of Denzel Freeman at UFC 324 on January 24, a unanimous decision over Curtis Blaydes at UFC 327 on April 11, and a second-round knockout of Derrick Lewis at 4:09 on the same White House card where Gane won the interim belt. UFC 334 will be his first UFC main event.
A win on November 14 would make Hokit champion of record with about seven weeks to spare before the check time. Because both venues settle on the official titleholder at noon ET on December 31, the UFC 334 result effectively decides this market unless the belt changes status afterward.
The rest of the division is fighting for 2027 title shots, not the 2026 belt. Volkov meets Rizvan Kuniev in a title eliminator at UFC 333 in Abu Dhabi on October 24, and Pereira faces Sergei Pavlovich in the UFC 335 co-main event in Las Vegas on December 12. Neither is a title fight, so neither can change who holds the belt on December 31. Aspinall still sits first in the UFC's heavyweight rankings and has said he is not retiring, but his contracts trade at 1% on Kalshi and 0.2% on Polymarket.
The venues list slightly different fields. Kalshi carries Jon Jones at 1%; Jones announced his retirement in June 2025 and was not on the June 14 White House card, and Polymarket has no contract for him. Polymarket lists Derrick Lewis, Ante Delija, Serghei Spivac, Tyrell Fortune, and Kuniev, none of whom has a Kalshi contract. Kalshi also runs a separate Vacant outcome at 1%, while Polymarket routes a vacant belt to Other.
The market checks the official UFC heavyweight champion at 12:00 PM ET on December 31, 2026. Only the undisputed champion counts; an interim title holder does not. Under Kalshi's titleholder rules, a champion who is suspended but not stripped keeps the title, while a fighter who loses, vacates, or is stripped of the belt by the check time resolves No. If the belt is vacant, Kalshi's Vacant contract resolves Yes and Polymarket settles to Other.
Pereira's old division trades on the UFC Light Heavyweight Champion 2026 market, and the UFC Featherweight Champion 2026 board covers Volkanovski vs Evloev on the same UFC 333 card as Volkov vs Kuniev. Aspinall and Pereira both appear on the UFC pound-for-pound year-end 2026 odds. Every other fight and league board is on the sports prediction markets hub.
Resolves to the official UFC heavyweight champion as of 12:00 PM ET on December 31, 2026. Each fighter is a separate Yes/No contract: the contract for the recognized undisputed champion at that moment pays $1 per share and every other fighter resolves to zero. Interim champions do not count. Under Kalshi's titleholder rules, a champion who is suspended but not stripped keeps the title, a fighter who loses, vacates, or is stripped of the belt on or before the date resolves No, and a title fight on December 31 counts only if the result is official by 12:00 PM ET. If no champion is recognized at the check time, Kalshi's Vacant contract resolves Yes and Polymarket settles to Other. Kalshi settles under its KXUFCHEAVYWEIGHTTITLE series with the UFC, ESPN, Fox Sports and MMA Fighting among its sources; Polymarket uses official UFC information from ufc.com.
As of October 16, 2026, Ciryl Gane trades at 67% to 70% on Kalshi and 67% to 68% on Polymarket, and Josh Hokit is at 32% to 33% on Kalshi and about 30% on Polymarket. Every other fighter is at 1% or less.
It resolves to the official UFC heavyweight champion at 12:00 PM ET on December 31, 2026. Interim champions do not count, and a vacant belt resolves Kalshi's Vacant contract Yes and Polymarket's market to Other.
Kalshi lists it under the KXUFCHEAVYWEIGHTTITLE series and Polymarket lists a matching per-fighter market. The board carries about $900K in combined volume, with Kalshi volume counted in contracts.
Aspinall vacated the title on September 14, 2026 because of a lingering eye injury from his October 2025 no contest with Gane at UFC 321. Gane, who won the interim belt by stopping Alex Pereira on June 14, 2026, was elevated to undisputed champion.
UFC 334 at Madison Square Garden on November 14, 2026 decides the belt, so fight week and the weigh-ins are the key checkpoints. After that, only a vacated or stripped title before December 31 would change the outcome.
