The College Football Playoff 2026 market heads into the committee's first ranking doubting unbeaten Utah, and that doubt is the trade. Kalshi prices the 8-0 Utes at 71% to make the 12-team field as of Tuesday morning, November 3, behind a one-loss Indiana at 92% and a one-loss Notre Dame at 79%. The CFP Selection Committee releases its first top 25 on ESPN between 7 and 8 p.m. ET Tuesday, per the CFP's own schedule.
The board is Kalshi-only in the Genius feed, with 59 teams listed and about 3.5M contracts traded. Its prices add up to 1,182%, or 11.8 teams for 12 spots, so the market is internally consistent. What it says about conferences is the interesting part.
College Football Playoff 2026 Odds Before the First Ranking
Prices are Kalshi's Yes side to qualify for the playoff, read from the Genius API on November 3. Records and AP ranks are from ESPN's Week 10 poll page.
| Team | Record | AP rank | Kalshi | Kalshi on Oct 13 |
| Miami | 8-0 | 1 | 95% | 92% |
| Indiana | 8-1 | 6 | 92% | 79% |
| Georgia | 7-1 | 2 | 91% | 96% |
| Notre Dame | 7-1 | 4 | 79% | 92% |
| Utah | 8-0 | 3 | 71% | 49% |
| Alabama | 6-2 | 9 | 66% | 80% |
| UCLA | 8-0 | 5 | 62% | 36% |
| LSU | 6-2 | 15 | 60% | 22% |
| Texas | 6-2 | 10 | 56% | 69% |
| Ohio State | 6-2 | 11 | 54% | 85% |
| Ole Miss | 6-2 | 12 | 53% | n/a |
| Boise State | 7-1 | 20 | 50% | n/a |
| BYU | 7-1 | 7 | 39% | n/a |
| Kentucky | 7-1 | 8 | 37% | n/a |
The biggest single move belongs to Ohio State. The Buckeyes were 83% on Kalshi on October 31 and dropped to 54% after Saturday's 30-18 loss at USC, their second of the season after a 24-23 loss at Texas. Indiana went the other way the same day, from 74% to 92%, after a 23-16 overtime win over Minnesota that needed a 60-yard field goal to force the extra period.
The College Football Playoff 2026 Pick: Utah at 71%
Utah is the buy. The Utes are 8-0, 5-0 in the Big 12, No. 3 in the AP poll and No. 4 in the coaches poll. Their five Big 12 wins include Houston, Colorado, Iowa State and Cincinnati, and their closest game all season was a 27-24 win at Colorado.
At 71%, the market gives an unbeaten top-three team a 29% chance of missing a 12-team field. Indiana, with a loss, is 92%. The Big 12 champion qualifies automatically, so the realistic path to Utah missing runs through two more losses and no league title. Utah's remaining schedule is BYU at home on Saturday, at Arizona, at TCU, and West Virginia at home.
Saturday's noon ET game against BYU is the swing. BYU is 7-1 and No. 7 in the AP poll. A Utah win removes the Big 12's highest-ranked challenger and pushes the Utes toward the 90% tier. A loss still leaves Utah 8-1, the same record Indiana carries at 92%. The 71% price undersells both outcomes.
How the College Football Playoff 2026 Board Splits by Conference
Grouping the 59 Kalshi prices by conference shows what the market expects the bracket to look like:
| Conference | Implied bids | Leading team |
| SEC | 4.36 | Georgia 91% |
| Big Ten | 2.75 | Indiana 92% |
| Big 12 | 1.73 | Utah 71% |
| ACC | 1.20 | Miami 95% |
| Notre Dame | 0.79 | 79% |
| Group of Six bid | 0.99 | Boise State 50% |
The SEC carries more than four expected bids even though only Georgia and Kentucky have one loss. Six 6-2 SEC teams trade between 12% and 66%: Alabama, LSU, Texas, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Missouri. Kentucky, at 7-1 and No. 8 in the AP poll, is only 37%. The market trusts SEC schedules more than SEC records.
The Big 12 gets the opposite treatment. Utah, BYU and Texas Tech are a combined 22-2 and are priced for 1.41 bids between them. One gap stands out: Wake Forest is 7-1, 5-1 in the ACC and No. 14 in the AP poll, and has no contract on the Kalshi board in the Genius feed.
College Football Playoff 2026 Bubble: Ohio State, LSU and the 6-2 Tier
The bubble is crowded with two-loss teams from big conferences. LSU is the hottest of them, up from 22% on October 13 to 60%. Texas has gone the other way, from 69% to 56%. Ohio State's 54% reflects two road losses by a combined 13 points and a November schedule that opens at home against Oregon on Saturday.
The CFP's rules decide how many of these teams get in. Per the CFP, the conference champions of the ACC, Big Ten, Big 12 and SEC qualify automatically, as does the highest-ranked team from the American, Conference USA, MAC, Mountain West, Pac-12 and Sun Belt. The next seven highest-ranked teams take the at-large spots, and Notre Dame qualifies if it finishes in the top 12. There is no cap on bids from one conference.
That structure is why the SEC's two-loss tier trades as a group. Seven at-large spots have to absorb Notre Dame, any one-loss Big Ten or SEC runner-up, and only then the 6-2 teams, so Alabama, LSU, Texas and Ole Miss sit between 53% and 66% rather than near 90%.
The College Football Playoff 2026 Group of Six Bid
The six-conference automatic bid is priced almost exactly at one team: 99% spread across five leagues. Boise State, 7-1 and 4-0 in the Pac-12, leads at 50%. New Mexico, 7-1 and 4-0 in the Mountain West, is 35%. North Texas, 4-0 in the American after Thursday's high-scoring win over FAU, is 5%. Boise State and New Mexico rank 20th and 22nd in the AP poll, so tonight's committee order between them sets this race.
