The number on New Orleans is 8.4 wins and I do not want it. Not the over, not the under. The Kalshi ladder crosses 50c between over 8 at 55c and over 9 at 41c, the market calling this a middling .500 team that wins eight or nine games and goes home. That is the outcome I have least conviction in. There are clearer paths to a floor and a ceiling here than this board is pricing. Take the tails: alt over 10.5 at 29c, or alt under 6.5 at 20c.
Saints Win Total 2026 Odds Today
| Line | Kalshi | Implied | Volume |
| Over 6 | 80c | 80% | 0 |
| Over 7 | 67c | 67% | 9 |
| Over 8 | 55c | 55% | 1,393 |
| Over 9 | 41c | 41% | 539 |
| Over 10 | 29c | 29% | 36 |
This is a Kalshi ladder. Polymarket does not list a New Orleans win total, so every price above is one book and the $49K on it is Kalshi money. The cross-platform read lives one board over on the 2026 NFC South Division Winner odds: 28c on Kalshi, 27c on Polymarket. A 1c gap on a $277K two-platform market means the books agree on New Orleans.
Where the money sits is the real tell. Of roughly 1,977 in traded volume across 17 rungs, 1,393 is on over 8 and 539 on over 9, which is 98% of the action on the two rungs closest to 8.4. Over 10 has 36. Every rung at six wins and below has traded zero. The market has not disagreed with the tails, it has ignored them. Skip the 6c prints on over 15 through over 17, a thin book resting on its floor rather than anyone's view of a 16-win Saints season.
Saints Win Total 2026 Pick: Buy the Tails, Not the 8.4
Alt over 10.5 at 29c and alt under 6.5 at 20c. Buy both and you pay 49c for any season finishing outside the 7 to 10 win band, the exact band 98% of this ladder's volume is on. I am not telling you the Saints are secretly a playoff team, or a three-win team. I am telling you the range of outcomes here is wider than a 55c over 8 admits, because almost everything runs through one player in one very weak division.
Kellen Moore is probably a good coach. One season is not enough to tell, so the jury is not out and it is not in either. In a division this soft, a coaching edge is worth a game or two, and so is the opposite. Another variable pushing this season away from the middle.
Tyler Shough Is the Whole Saints Win Total 2026 Bet
Shough is the starter and deservingly so, but how good is he actually? He went 221 of 327 for 2,384 yards with 10 touchdowns and 6 interceptions in 11 games, a 67.6% completion rate and a 91.3 rating, plus 186 rushing yards and 3 scores. He played well down the stretch. He also beat up on some of the worst teams in football doing it. New Orleans won four straight from Week 14 through Week 17 over Tampa Bay, Carolina, the Jets and the Titans. The Jets and Titans both finished 3-14, two of the four worst teams in the league, and the year still ended 6-11.
He showed enough flashes to lock in the job and earn some hype. I would pump the brakes. We are still talking about a QB20 at best.
What helps him is the skill group. New Orleans signed Travis Etienne Jr., good in both the run and pass game for Jacksonville: 1,107 rushing yards and 7 scores on 260 carries, plus 36 catches for 292 yards and 6 more touchdowns. My read is he steps in as RB1, though that is a projection and not a settled depth chart: Alvin Kamara is still here in year 10 after a 131-carry, 471-yard, one-touchdown season. Chris Olave is amazing and needs to stay healthy: 100 catches for 1,163 yards and 9 touchdowns in 16 games, against 8 games and 400 yards the year before. Rookie wideout Jordyn Tyson could be a difference maker too if he stays healthy. Both are tall asks. This team priced around .500 is fair.
Why the NFC South Makes the Saints Win Total 2026 a Coin Flip
The fact that should reframe this board: Carolina won the NFC South last season at 8-9 and took the 4 seed. Tampa Bay and Atlanta both went 8-9. New Orleans went 6-11 and scored 306 points, fewest in the division. The 8.4 on the Saints is almost exactly last year's division-winning total. Six games against this group helps, though division games are always tough and upsets happen.
The rest of the board agrees. Tampa Bay's ladder implies about 8.7 wins, New Orleans 8.4, Atlanta about 7.8 on the Atlanta Falcons 2026 win total odds, Carolina about 7.5 on the Carolina Panthers 2026 win total odds. On the division contract, Tampa Bay is 31c, New Orleans 28c, Carolina 23c and Atlanta 21c. Nobody is priced above 32c to win it. When the ceiling of a four-team race is 32c, an 11-win season and a 5-win season are both closer than they look.
The Case for the Saints Win Total 2026 Over 10.5
Shough takes a leap behind a better supporting cast, New Orleans beats up on a bad division, and the defense plays at a league-average rate despite being banged up. That gets you 10 or 11 wins. Variance is enormous in football, so if they win their one-score games, stop turning it over and win the turnover margin, 11 is not out of the question. They were minus-4 in turnover differential, tied for 23rd, so there is room on that alone. That is the true ceiling, and 29c gives it a 29% shot.
The Case for the Saints Win Total 2026 Under 6.5
Shough's late-season success came against bad teams and there is more tape on him now. Despite the weapon upgrades, he never gets the offense going. The Saints are not deep on offense, so a hit to any skill guy makes it hard. That unit scored 18.0 points per game, 28th in the NFL, on 31 touchdowns and 1,603 rushing yards.
Then there is the defense, which could be terrible. It allowed 383 points last year, and the camp damage is concentrated on the interior line: Bryan Bresee out, Keeshawn Silver out, Christen Miller questionable. Three defensive tackles. Nick Saldiveri is out at tackle and Mason Tipton is out at receiver. If that unit cannot stop anybody, Shough has to carry it, and I doubt he is that guy. Add a version where Moore is a bad coach making negative-EV decisions that cost a win or two. Unlikely, still in the cards. That whole package is 20c.
When the Saints Win Total 2026 Market Resolves
The contract settles on New Orleans' final regular-season win total over the 17-game schedule, listed resolution date January 18, 2027. Each rung is its own binary: over 8 pays at nine or more wins, over 10 pays at 11 or more. Buying alt under 6.5 means selling the over 6 rung at 80c, which pays if the Saints finish with six wins or fewer.
What Moves the Saints Win Total 2026 Before Week 1
- Interior defensive line status:** Bresee and Silver returning to practice, or not, is the biggest swing on the under.
- Shough's preseason usage:** how many series he takes, and whether Spencer Rattler is kept warm behind him.
- Olave availability:** 16 games last season after 8 the year before, with no replacement for 1,163 yards.
- Jordyn Tyson's camp reps:** a rookie who forces three-receiver looks changes the ceiling case, not the floor.
- Division line drift:** if Tampa Bay's 8.7 or Carolina's 7.5 moves, the Saints' 8.4 moves with it.
Saints Win Total 2026 and the Rest of the NFC South Board
The 2026 NFC South Division futures pay 28c for a New Orleans title, a cleaner expression of the over case than the ladder. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers 2026 win total odds are the direct fade if you think the Saints are this group's best team. For the ceiling case, the NFC Championship 2026-27 odds and Super Bowl LXI Champion odds are where an 11-win New Orleans team actually pays.
They may seem like the safest team in the NFC South, and it is very possible they just are. That is what 8.4 is. But there are clearer paths to a floor and a ceiling outcome than this board is pricing, and 98% of the volume is sitting in the one place I want no part of.
