Buffalo is the chalk in the AFC East 2026 market at 56.5c, and I do not trust it. New England went 14-3 last season, won this division at 5-1, and played in the Super Bowl. The Patriots are priced second at 38.5c. The team that finished two games behind them is the favorite.
That inversion is why this board is interesting. Total volume is $154K across Kalshi and Polymarket, and it is the most top-heavy division board in football: the Jets at 3.5c and the Dolphins at 3c are priced as non-participants. That part I agree with.
AFC East 2026 Odds Today
| Team | Kalshi | Polymarket | Board | Gap |
| Bills | 57c | 56c | 56.5c | 1c |
| Patriots | 37c | 40c | 38.5c | 3c |
| Jets | 4c | 3c | 3.5c | 1c |
| Dolphins | 4c | 2c | 3c | 2c |
The only real disagreement between the books is New England. Kalshi has the Patriots at 37c, Polymarket at 40c. Polymarket is right. Kalshi is pricing the Super Bowl hangover and the regression case. Polymarket is pricing the roster, and the roster got better. The Patriots contract has also drawn the most money here, $6.8K against Buffalo's $3.5K, so the second-priced team is where the argument is.
AFC East 2026 Pick: Buffalo Is Chalk, Not a Conviction Buy
Buffalo has the same problem it has had for half a decade. Josh Allen is great and the rest of the roster is mediocre on both sides of the ball.
The 2025 numbers make that literal. Allen threw 25 touchdowns and ran for 14, and Buffalo scored 59 offensive touchdowns as a team. Allen accounted for 39 of them, 66%. He is not the best player on that offense. He is the offense.
The line in front of him is the other tell. Allen was sacked 14 times in 2024 and 40 times in 2025. Same quarterback, same arm, nearly three times the pressure. Buffalo still won 12 games because Allen is that good, then finished second in its own division and lost at Denver 33-30 as a 6 seed.
James Cook is great and the number backs it: 1,621 rushing yards on 5.2 per carry with 12 touchdowns, a second straight 1,000-yard season. D.J. Moore should be interesting for them, though he is coming off 50 catches for 682 yards in Chicago, the quietest full year of his career. Interesting is the right word for that addition. Solved is not.
Buffalo won the AFC East five straight seasons, 2020 through 2024, going 6-0, 5-1, 4-2, 4-2 and 5-1 in division play. Then New England took it. At 56.5c you are being charged for the five, not for the one that just happened.
New England Patriots AFC East 2026 Odds: The Defending Champion Is Priced Second
New England lost the Super Bowl 29-13 to Seattle on February 8, 2026. Normally that hangover is worse for the loser of the Super Bowl than for the winner, and by my read they had the easiest schedule in football last year. Those are the two honest arguments for the Patriots falling off and I am not dismissing either.
But Drake Maye is a stud and the jump is right there on the page. In 2025 he threw for 4,394 yards with 31 touchdowns and 8 interceptions, completed 72.0% at 8.9 yards per attempt, and posted a 113.5 rating. In 2024 it was 2,276 yards, 15 touchdowns and 10 interceptions across 13 games. That is a quarterback entering year three who already made the leap.
A.J. Brown is a stud: 78 catches for 1,003 yards and 7 touchdowns in 15 games in Philadelphia. Romeo Doubs was a great get: 55 catches, 724 yards, 6 touchdowns. New England scored 490 points last year, the most in the division, and adding those two to a 31-touchdown quarterback should make it better.
The defense was good and should still be good. The Patriots allowed 320 points, 45 fewer than Buffalo and the fewest in the AFC East. Mike Vrabel's team went 5-1 in division games. Buffalo went 4-2.
There is a good argument for New England to fall off and a good argument for them being better. That is what makes 38.5c intriguing instead of a fade.
New York Jets AFC East 2026 Odds: A 3.5c Spoiler, Not a Winner
The Jets will stink. Stink does not always mean losing as many games as everyone expects.
New York went 3-14, scored 17.6 points per game and gave up 503, the second-worst defense in football. It allowed 60 sacks, averaged 140.3 net passing yards per game, generated only 26 sacks of its own, and went 0-6 in AFC East play.
I expect the defense to be better this year and the offense to at least look like a pro team under Aaron Glenn. I do not expect anything crazy like winning the division, and 3.5c is fair for that. But 0-6 in division games is a floor, not a baseline. Buffalo and New England each play the Jets twice, and a Jets team that steals two of those four is the cheapest way this race gets shaken up.
Miami Dolphins AFC East 2026 Odds: 3c Is Not Low Enough
Miami is abysmal.
De'Von Achane may get the ball 40 times a game, and he can carry it: 238 carries for 1,350 yards at 5.7 a pop with 8 touchdowns, plus 67 catches for 488 yards and 4 scores, 1,838 scrimmage yards in 16 games. Fun for fantasy managers, not fun for Miami fans, because the reason he gets it 40 times is that there is nothing else.
Jaylen Waddle was traded and Tyreek Hill is no longer on the roster either. Miami's entire 12-man receiver room combined for 888 receiving yards in 2025. A.J. Brown had 1,003 by himself in 15 games. The best returning Dolphin receiver is Malik Washington, at 46 catches for 317 yards.
Malik Willis is QB1 and he got paid. He has thrown 89 passes over the last two seasons: 550 yards in seven games in 2024, 422 in four games in 2025, all as a Green Bay backup. Odds are that contract looks poor.
This roster threw 18 interceptions, scored 20.4 points per game and gave up 424 last year with more talent on it than it has now. It lacks talent on both sides of the ball with a quarterback more likely to stink than live up to his deal. I would be shocked if Miami makes this a race of any kind.
When the AFC East 2026 Division Winner Market Resolves
The market resolves January 11, 2027, the day after the regular season ends. It pays the team that finishes first in the AFC East per official NFL standings, including the league's divisional tiebreakers, so a 10-7 team that wins the head-to-head sweep beats a 10-7 team that does not.
Kalshi lists it as KXNFLAFCEAST and Polymarket runs it as the AFC East Champion event. Both settle to the same standings, which is why the 3c gap on New England is a difference of opinion and not of rules.
Key Catalysts That Move AFC East 2026 Odds
- Buffalo vs New England, twice:** each meeting swings a win and a tiebreaker, and New England already owns the 5-1 division mark.
- Josh Allen's sack rate:** 14 in 2024 to 40 in 2025 decides whether 56.5c is a price or a mistake.
- Drake Maye's year three:** hold near 31 touchdowns and 8 interceptions and 38.5c is cheap.
- Malik Willis's first four starts:** 89 pass attempts over two seasons is the whole sample, and it prices the rest of Miami's contract.
- Jets division games:** any improvement on 0-6 comes straight out of Buffalo's and New England's win totals.

Every board repeats the same inversion. On the 2026 AFC Championship Winner odds, New England is 9.5c to Buffalo's 14.5c. On the Super Bowl LXI Champion odds, it is 4.5c to 8c. Buffalo stays ahead of the team that just beat them out, in three different rooms.
For shape, the AFC North Division Winner 2026 odds run 47.5c, 34c, 14.5c, 4.5c and the 2026 NFC East Division Winner odds run 39.5c, 32c, 16c, 14.5c. Those are four-team races. Here the bottom two add to 6.5c. This is two teams and two lottery tickets.
Bottom line: Buffalo is chalk and I do not trust it, New England at 38.5c is the most interesting number on the board, the Jets are a 3.5c spoiler with a 0-6 division record to bounce off, and Miami should be the worst team in this division by a distance.
